Chapter 1

Tim poured some black coffee in the white cup of his fiancée Monique. She listened to the calming sound of the black liquid flooding into her cup and closed her eyes blissfully as the delicious scent reached her nose. She loved those mornings. As she looked up Tim was smiling at her, placing a kiss right in the middle of her forehead. “Thank you!” said Monique applying to the coffee, knowing that pouring in coffee wasn’t the only thing that Tim would please her with in the years of their marriage which would hopefully last forever.
Tim sat down on his chair, still looking at Monique amazed by her smile and her deep brown eyes.

When Monique and her best friend Sarah decided to make their dream come true and spent all their money for their own restaurant, they were so broke that they couldn’t even afford an appartement. Tim didn’t want his girlfriend to sleep under bridge so he offered her to move in with him. A big step that he never regreted. He even proposed to her some weeks ago. Monique said “Yes” because she knew that this guy, she once met in the tube, was the one for her. Luckily she glanced at her right ringfinger where a diamond shined in the light of the morning sun that entered through the windows of the kitchen.

From the corridor, there was the sound of a key in the door heard and then the opening door. Some seconds later Sarah stood in the kitchen. Dressed in a pink long cardigan with purple buttons, her naked knees appeared under it again, short before the black boots covered the rest of her legs and feet. Her brown hair was hold back by hairband from falling into her soft face with the piercing blue eyes. At the leash in her right hand stood at brown boxer. “Good morning” Sarah grinned.

When Tim offered Monique to move in with her it also meant that Sarah would move in. This grils were best friends since day one. And so Tim had no other choice than taking Sarah with him which wasn’t such a big problem because the appartement was big enough, but with Sarah came this brown boxer bitch and Tim hated dogs.

“Good morning!” Monique smiled at her best friends “You are already awake?” “Yup!” Sarah got Glams water bowl and filled it up. “I wanted to take a walk with her before I would leave to the restaurant! I don’t want her to piss in the corner here!” the dark haired girl joked. “Very wise of you!” Tim said ironically and took a sip of his coffee while he watched Glam that was drinking out of the bowl that Sarah had put directly in front of the dog’s nose. “Isn’t she cute?” Sarah said folllowing Tims eyes. “Yeah, well…!” Tim led his eyes back on the table. “You can confess Tim. I know you love her, you hated dogs but now you know Glam and love them!” Sarah crawled the dog between the ears. Glam closed her eyes, pleased. Tim just shook his head, knowing that Sarah was right but he would never confess, not in front of her.

“Okay, kids! I gotta leave now! I see you in the restaurant, babe!” Sarah kissed her best friend Min, the way she always called her, on the cheek. “And you mate…” she hugged Tim “…did I tell you before that you are my favourite-groom-of-a-best-friend a best friend could wish for?” “Yeah, you tell me that almost every day since I proposed to her!” Tim said gasping for air in Sarahs hug. “Yeah, and you really are! Okay, see you!” she let go of Tim and from one second to another she disappeard.

“Oh God,” Tim sighed “She’s crazy!” Min laughed “Yeah, she’s gonna be the maddest bridesmaid ever!”
“While speaking of the wedding…!” Tim reached for Glam’s head. The dog had sat down beside him waiting for affection. Monique’s fiancé crawled the dog behind the ears. “Don’t you really want a wedding planer? All this stress with the restaurant and stuff…!”
Monique grinned at him, seeing how he was cuddling up with the dog. “No, I told you already that I want to organise it all on my own, it’s my wedding! Of course I hope that there a people who will help me!” she said, stressing the last part. “And by the way, I already planned holidays. I want to close the restaurant for a week so I can organise the engagement party and stuff. I already got the right location! I thought about the house at the beach that Simon bougth last year!”

Simon Webbe was Monique’s famous older brother that, after having success with the Band “Blue”, was now a successful solo artist. “You think he’s going to lend it to you?” Tim frowned. “Of course, he’s my brother and witness to our marriage. Maybe, he’s coming with us!” “Us?” Tim made big eyes. “Yeah, darling…” Monique fluttered her eyelashes. “I already said that I won’t do this all on my own! You, my groom, my freaky bridesmaid and Simon, will help me! For what else do I have you? It would be great if you could ask at the office for one or two week’s holidays. Will you?” Monique made her big Bambi eyes, and Tim felt how he had no chance against her. “Oh, well!” Tim sighed “I see where this all leading to in the next years!” “Thank you!” she bend forward and kissed him and Tim knew why he was doing all those things for her.

He was one of those guys who were already pleased when the bride said “Yes” at the wedding, he didn’t want more than that. But he was happy when Monique was, so they needed a big party. “And what about Sarah?” he asked, thinking of her as Min’s business partner. “You know her,” Monique began to set of the breakfast table “, she loves holidays and she’s my best friend, so the organisation of the wedding is supposed to be a mission for her!” Min winked at this gorgeous dark haired man sitting at the kitchen table. “I can’t wait to be your wife!” she whispered to him and they gently kissed.

awright this part is big Laughing

have fun ^^, by the way is actually anyone reading this apart from mona? just wondered Laughing

Monique crossed the street, right in front of where big italic letters formed the word “Moonpot”. That was the name of Sarah’s and her restaurant. They were both very proud. Monique loved to open to open the door, every time she went to work. The arrangement had developed out of an agreement between her and her best friend. Monique wanted elegance, more the classic style and Sarah wanted it colourful and crazy, exactly the opposite. But they agreed on elegant shaping of the furniture but on colourful colours. So every table and the belonging chairs had a different colour; green, yellow, blue, red, orange, pink. And in their shape they were all more round, elegant. The walls were painted in white and the floor was wooden.
Monique had the feeling that every time you came in, you felt happy. Even when it was raining outside and you entered their place it felt like the sun was shining.

Min closed the door behind her, recognizing that there was already a customer standing at the purple coloured bar paying his “coffee to go”. “Here you are!” Sarah said having a bright flirty smile on her lips “I hope you’ll have a good day! I see you at lunch time!” she winked at the blonde guy who said goodbye, obviously being confused of Sarah. “Goodbye!” Monique said to him as he was leaving not even recognizing her but once again turning around to Sarah who smiled at him.

“What are you doing?” the dark skinned girl asked with a serious tone in her voice. “I’m serving our customers!” Sarah said smiling. “Yeah, with some extra services, like turning around their heads?” Min stepped to her behind the bar. “What? I was just being friendly!” “Flirty! It’s called flirty not friendly!” Sarah’s best friend put off her jacket. Sarah rolled her eyes.

“Don’t do that…!” Min said. She exactly knew the face of her best friend even when she was turning her back to her. “Oh Min, I’m just having fun!” Sarah said passing by her, entering the kitchen to prepare some sandwiches. It was early in the morning, so there weren’t so many customers, the most would come to noon time. “Fun, is alright! But you know that you are not….!”
But Sarah interrupted her friend who had been following her into the kitchen “Stop, this Min!”

The brown haired girl knew exactly what her best friend was about to say. That Sarah’s love life wasn’t the best way to get to Mr. Right, because she was flirting around, and changing men every week or had one night stands. “I don’t need Mr. Right, Min! I need my freedom and a bit fun from time to time! I’m happy with my love life!” Sarah said, at least for the thousandths time, because Min was always trying to change her mind in this point.
Min just shrugged this time, saying nothing but thinking and went back behind the bar to serve some costumers. She knew exactly that Sarah was lying; everybody needed someone like she had in Tim. For everyone was the right person out there, she always knew that but now she was even more convinced, since she found Tim.

Sarah grabbed for the knife to cut the tomatoes. She wasn’t mad at Min, she understood her. Min was so happy now with Tim, and Min was this kind of person who wanted the luck she had also for everybody else. So she also wanted a “Tim” for Sarah, though Sarah didn’t even need one.

After the customers went, or sat down at a table, Monique came back. “Can you make an Italian Sandwich, please?” “I’m already on it!” Sarah said reaching for some bread, which they got every morning fresh from the baker around the corner. Monique watched her best friend working, again surprised about how fast Sarah was. Min thought with shame about her own cooking skills that didn’t exist. She just wasn’t able to cook. But she loved eating and was good at handling costumers. That’s way she was proper for the work behind the bar.

“Listen, I got an idea! The wedding and stuff really needs time to organise, so I thought we might be able to close the restaurant for a week!” Monique suggested. Sarah handed her the dish with the sandwich. It looked so tasty that Min was feeling hunger coming up. “You know that you don’t have to ask me when it is about making holidays!” Sarah giggled and flicked a streak out of her face. “Great!” Min grinned “So we have enough time to organise everything, it’s going to be so much fun!” she kissed her best friend on the cheek “Can you do me also something like this?” she pointed on the sandwich, again feeling her stomach growling. Sarah chuckled “Of course darling!”

Monique waited for the phone to ring. Of course, her brother hadn't answered the phone as she had called him this morning so she had spoken on the answering machine, telling him to call her back because she want him to do a favour for her. It was afternoon and a lot of people were entering the restaurant, to meet their friends after work or just to relax a bit. It wasn’t for long, the restaurant had been open, but it was already quite popular.
Min just served some very tasty looking pizza to the green table, when she reached the bar again and the phone was ringing. “Can you just fill up some cola?” she asked Sarah who was also standing behind the bar, while in the kitchen Giovanni was cooking, he always came to noon until evening to help the girls out. He was a very good cook. Sarah loved it when she had the chance to cook with him, because she could learn so much from him.

Monique picked up the phone. “Restaurant “Moonpot”. Monique Webbe, speaking. What can I do for you?”
“Hey lil’ sister! I should be the one, asking you `What I can do for you ? ” A warm soft voice was appearing on the other side. “Simon! Thank you for calling back!” Min answered. “Any time. So what’s the favour I shall do for you? I’m a bit afraid to ask!” “Say that you want him to strip at your hen night!” Sarah said to her, giggling, having heard what Simon had said on the other side of the phone. “What?” Simon asked not really understanding what was said. “Eh…sorry…don’t you worry…It was just Sarah!” Min pushed Sarah away who was after all leaving to serve the drinks.

“Yeah, Sarah!” She could hear her big brother moan. Overhearing this she went on “What I want to ask you if you could lend us your house at the beach? I want to take some days off to have more time to organise the wedding, and I want to make my engagement party there!” “Isn’t already Mum making and engagement party this weekend?” “Yeah, but I want a real party! You know what I mean, with all of Tim’s and my friends! Of course you are invited, too!” “I hope so, because it’s my house!” Simon laughed. “So are you saying, yes?” “Yeah, I am!” “Oh thank you!” Min smiled in anticipation.

“So when do you want to make this party?” “I think at Saturday in three weeks! But it would be great if you could come already earlier, a week or so! So you can help to organise everything!” “A second favour?” Simon asked in disbelief. “When you put it like that, yes. But you see, you can always watch us in your house!” Monique tried to show him the advantages. “I don’t think that you and Tim are able to destroy my house in a week!” “Yes, but Sarah is coming with us….!” Simon’s little sister grinned brightly, she knew she could get him with that.

“Sarah? In my house?” Simon was obviously shocked. “She’s my bridesmaid, she has to help me! So are you joining us?” Min tried to sound as innocent as she could. “Oh, well! It seems like! I’m joining you on that Monday, alright? As if by chance, you caught the week that I have off.” Simon agreed, not sounding very happy. “Thank you so much!” Min said goodbye to her brother and then hung up and chuckled.
Of course, she had known that he had a week off at that time.

“We get Simon’s house at the beach!” Monique smiled triumphantly ar her best friend and set some glasses on a tablet. “Simon’s house?” Sarah lifted her eyebrows in disbelief “I didn’t know you were talking about Simon’s house, when you told me about the location of the party!” “Sorry!” the dark-skinned girl shrugged, smiled and then rushed to the blue table to server the guests who had taken a seat there some minutes ago.
Sarah shook her head and then went into the kitchen to see if Gio needed some help.

***

“So Simon is really letting me in his house?”
It was late in the evening when Sarah and Min closed the door of their restaurant. Min turned the key in the lock twice before they walked on to the tube station. Stepping through the warm sommernight. The dark sky was clear and you could see some little stars competeing with the lights shining up to the sky from the streets of London. “Yeah!” Min nooded , answering to her best friend’s question “Because of you he’s also joining us!”
The young ladies took the stairs down to the underground. “What? He’s not voluntarily spending a week with me in one house, you can’t tell me this!” Sarah laughed being aware of Simon’s and her relationship. “No! To be honest, he does not trust you, so he will come to watch you and make sure that his house won’t take any harm!”
They reached the railway and waited for their tube. “I knew it!” Sarah chukled “ But I don’t think that this is a good idea. Me and Simon, one week, one house…!” “Why not?” Min pulled down her underlip. Her brown haired friend just looked at her with this special You-know-exactly-why look in her blue eyes. “But this was 15 years ago!” Monique sighed shaking her head. “I know,…” Sarah grinned evily “…but he’s still not over it!”

The tube arrived, and the girls jumped in the half empty tube. Sarah took the seat beside of Min, remembering this one day in sommer when she and her best friend where about nine years old.
The girls had been on their way home, back from the swimming-pool on this sunny day, when they had passed the sports field. Monique’s older brother Simon had been playing football with some of his friends, to the girls this had looked a lot of fun and they had wanted to join the boys, but Simon had dismissed them ‘You´re too young to hit a ball!’.
Sarah, already in this early age a very confident girl, had put her hands in her hips and had lifted her chin, saying that she would be able to beat him in this game, anywhere and anytime. Simon had, of course, been laughing at her and had agreed on a match with her, very sure that he would be the winner. Well, but Sarah had won, embarassing Simon infront of all of his friends, hurting his male pride. From this time on they were fighting everytime they met and in last years they had become real enemies.
