Chapter One

You made me who I am today, confident and inspired me to reach for my dreams, my world is so much better because you are in it. All because you love me.

As Katie read the vows her husband wrote, the tears rolled down her pale cheek. The sobs wracked her body; she clung to that piece of paper like her life depended on it. She thought back to her wedding day, it was so magical and everything she dreamed it would be.
Her husband, Duncan was the perfect husband any women could ask for. He made her feel so special and so loved now that was taken away from her, that killer took her Duncan away from her. She’d just come back from burying her husband, it was the hardest thing she’d ever had to do. Watching that coffin lower into the ground, she wanted so much to wake up from this nightmare but unfortunately this nightmare was reality.
When she arrived home, everyone went into the lounge talking about how Duncan loved his wife more than anything and how hard it was going to be for her to get over his death. Katie just went upstairs and lay on the bed, looked at wedding photos of her and Duncan. Tears falling freely down her cheeks.
She felt a stab in her heart when she came across a little poem he’d written for her. She felt someone pull her into their arms, she looked up to see Lee, he’d been crying. “We’ll get through this Katie, we’ll get through this together” He said to her, trying to make her feel better. “Duncan wouldn’t want you to be sad, he’d want you to live your life and be happy” Lee says making Katie cry even more. “How can I when Duncan is dead? He made life worth living now he’s gone what have I got left? Nothing” She says Lee shakes his head “You’ve me, Emma, Abi, Jude. You have all your friends around you. Above all you have a part of him that’s growing inside you” Lee says putting his hand on her expanding bump. “This little one is worth living for” He says.

Chapter Two

Everyone left two hours later just leaving Katie and Lee. Lee takes Katie into his arms as she starts crying again, he calms her down and takes her upstairs to bed, “You sleep babes, it’s been a long day” He says helping her into bed. She kicks her shoes off and gets into bed. Lee lays the cover over her, “Lee stay with me please, I don’t want to be alone” She says, Lee nods and removes his jacket, he lies down next to her and pulls her into his arms, she snuggles up to him and drifts off to sleep.
Katie woke up a few hours later; Lee’s hand was resting on her bump, he was fast asleep. She gently moved out of his arms and out of bed. She went downstairs, walking into the living room. She walked over to the mantel place and picked up a photo of her and Duncan, she smiled at the memory of when this photo was taken.

*Flashback Two Months Ago*
“I love you, I can’t wait for this little one to be born” Duncan says stroking Katie’s bump gently. “I love you too Dunkie” She says cuddling up to him, Lee came over to them and took their picture, “I can’t believe you two are married now and having a baby” Lee says to them, “I know it’s amazing, everything’s perfect” Duncan says.

*End Of Flashback*

They had only been married two months, those two months were the best and Katie would cherish them forever. Also the saddest, they were planning for the arrival for their baby and enjoying married life now all that was taken away, the baby will never meet their Daddy. Katie would make sure this baby would know who their Daddy was and how kind he was. She didn’t want her baby not knowing who their Father was.
