First of all thanks for clicking onto this fic. 
Secondly, this fic was posted on BB but because that sadly had to close down, I'm re-posting it here. So that means I'll post chapter 1 - 14 now and an update will be up soon.

Chapter 1 – Lee.
Christmas was coming round soon. Another year over, another chapter closed. The waitress placed a new cup of Cappuccino down on the table. I smiled thankfully at her reading her name on her name tag; Sarah. “Thank you” I said wrapping my fingers around the mug warming them up. They were still freezing even though I hadn’t been outside for the last hour. “It’s on the house” she said flashing me another soft smile.
“Are you new here? I haven’t seen you here before” I said taking a sip from the hot drink, licking the cream off my lips as I placed the mug down again.
“I started working here about a month ago” Sarah said. I nodded, no wonder I hadn’t seen her before then. I had only returned to London three days ago after spending two months in New York. The bell rang and a group of five entered the restaurant. “That’s my cue, sorry” she said picking up her tray making her way to the bar to take their orders.
Sipping the Cappuccino I watched her work. She seemed so calm and it looked as though she had been working here for years, not just for a month. The group of five that had just arrived sat down at a table in the corner. Sarah placed their drinks down on a tray and I grinned as our glances met. Shyly she smiled back and made her way to the table in the corner.
I finished off the coffee and took the empty mug to the bar. “How much do I owe you?” I asked getting out my wallet. Sarah dried her hands and checked the price list. “Erm…£4.00 please” she said. I got out some money and gently placed my hand on hers as she wanted to turn around to give me my change back. “Keep it” I winked. Her cheeks turned slightly pink and I grinned making her giggle.
“Thank you…erm…what’s your name?” she asked biting her lower lip. My heart skipped a beat. This girl was doing something me.
“Lee, Lee Ryan” I held out my hand for her to shake. “Nice to meet you darling” I grinned. Smilingly Sarah shook my hand and nodded. “What time do you finish?” I asked letting go off her hand sitting down at the bar. She took a look at the clock behind the bar.
“Seven, so in ten minutes” she said.
“Great” I nodded. “Erm…do you have anyone waiting for you or anywhere to go except home?” I asked biting my lower lip, hoping she would say no. There was something about this girl that intrigued me and I wanted to get to know her better. Sarah shook her head shyly. “Great. Well, do you wanna join me for dinner then? I could use some company” I said with a grin hoping it would do the trick like it always did.
A giggle left her lips. It was so cute. “Yeah I’d love to” she said smiling.
“Great!” I exclaimed. She laughed slightly and I did too as I realised how many times I had said that word within just one minute.
The cold wind whistled in my neck and I pulled my warm scarf tighter around my neck, holding the door open for Sarah. “It’s freezing!” she exclaimed as the wind blew even harder causing us both to shiver with cold. I chuckled and waited for her to pull on her gloves.
“It’s December, what did you expect? Bikini weather?” I grinned cheekily. She laughed and I dug my hands in my pockets as we slowly began to make our way down the street. A thin layer of snow covered the street.
“You’re quite the charmer, aren’t you?” she said.
“I try” I grinned again which made her laugh again. A snowflake suddenly touched my nose and I lifted my head to look up into the dark star filled sky.
“Aww I hope it’s gonna be snowing all night. I love snow!” Sarah exclaimed excitedly stopping in her tracks to look at the sky too. I stopped walking too and watched her. A happy smile played on her lips and her brown eyes sparkled in the dim street light. “Don’t you just love nights like these?” she asked me locking our eyes. I nodded.
“Yeah. I’m freezing my butt off though!” I exclaimed. She giggled.
“Sorry” she smiled stepping next to me. Her cheeks and nose were slightly pink from the cold. “So…where are we going then?” she asked.
“Well, I know this amazing Italian place just down the road. I hope you like Italian” I said glancing at her as we continued our way.
“Italian sounds great” Sarah replied.
“Good” I smiled receiving one back from her. It started snowing even harder and we hurried up. I pushed the door to the restaurant open and stepped in after her, our hands brushing against each other for a split second. I shook my head lightly to get rid off the snowflakes on my hair.
“Lee! What a lovely surprise!” Luigi exclaimed as he saw me. He was the owner of the restaurant and from Italian origin. His Italian background clearly showed in his restaurant, obviously, and in his English.
“Hello Luigi. Long time no see, eh. You alright?” I asked giving him a manly hug.
“Yes, thanks. Who’s this lovely lady then?” he smiled winking at me and kissing Sarah’s cheek.
“This is Sarah. Sarah, this is Luigi. He owns this place” I said introducing them. Smilingly she nodded and they shook hands. “Can we get a table for two please?” I asked slipping off my coat and taking Sarah’s. Luigi nodded and he waved at one of the waiters, signalling for him to take our coats to put them away. “Come on then” I smiled at Sarah following Luigi to a table at the window.
Chapter 2 – Sarah.
I took a sip from the white wine before placing the glass down on the table. “So, what do you do for a living?” I asked Lee wanting to know more about him.
“Well, I’m a singer” he said blushing slightly. I raised an eyebrow. “I know what you’re thinking” he grinned his cheeky grin. That grin certainly was one of his best features.
“What am I thinking then?” I smiled running my finger over the top of the wine glass. Still grinning he placed his fork down and leaned slightly back in his seat.
“You’re wondering what kind of singer I am. You’re trying to figure out if you’ve ever heard one of my songs, or seen my face on television” he said. I blushed slightly, he was so right. Lee chuckled softly and sat properly again, resting his elbows on the table as he spoke. “Truth is, I didn’t release anything yet and I haven’t been on television yet. I’ve only just signed a record deal” he said.
“Wow” I said impressed taking another sip of my wine. Lee smiled and made a signal with his hand, signalling for me to lean in too. I did so and our faces came closer, I could feel his hot breath tickling me and I could smell his aftershave. “I wasn’t supposed to tell anyone that yet, so you’d better keep your pretty mouth shut about it or else I’ll have to kill you” he whispered cheekily grinning. Giggling I looked back into his green eyes.
“I won’t tell a soul” I whispered. “Promise” I giggled again as we sat back.
“Good” Lee said with a slight grin. “Seriously though. I’ve just spent two months in New York writing songs and recording some stuff” he said. If other people would talk about things like this, this way I would think they’d like to boast but somehow this Lee guy seemed different. I watched him as he spoke about his New York trip. He was so down to earth about it and not all boasting.
“Singing is your passion, isn’t it?” I asked interrupting him mid-sentence. Lee looked at me with his mouth slightly open. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to interrupt you” I blushed biting my lip.
“No, no it’s ok” he said waving his hand lightly as if to wave my apology away. “But yeah, you’re right. Singing really is my passion. How did you guess?” he asked resting his elbow on the table supporting his head with his hand. I shrugged gently.
“Just the way you’re talking about. And the way your eyes dance and sparkle when you talk about it…” I trailed off suddenly feeling a bit embarrassed. What was I doing? I hardly knew this guy yet he gave me this feeling which I couldn’t describe. Lee laughed slightly and took a sip from his beer. “Sorry” I mumbled.
“Oh don’t be sorry darling! You have nothing to be sorry for” he smiled waving at one of the waiters. “Do you want another drink?” he asked pointing at the empty wine glass. I shook my head lightly and looked at my silver wrist watch. It was nearing midnight already, time had flown by.
“No thank you. I’d better get going actually, I’ve got an early shift tomorrow morning” I said. Lee nodded understandingly and asked the waiter for the bill. “Let me pay for that” I said wanting to take it as the waiter walked off again.
“Nope, this is my treat” he said taking the bill getting the money out for it and waving at the waiter again. I rolled my eyes at him. “What?” he exclaimed softly.
“Do you always treat people you hardly know?” I asked.
“Do you always say yes to dinner invitations with people you hardly know?” Lee shot back grinning widely, handing the waiter the money and thanking him. I laughed. He got me there. “Come on. Let me take you home” he smiled.
Chapter 3 – Nadine.
“Just call him already!” I called running a comb through my brown shoulder length hair. “You’ve got nothing to lose Sezzie, just call him” I said walking into her bedroom. Sarah was sat on her bed dressed in her pyjamas holding her phone and the piece of paper with his number.
“I can’t just call him Nadsie” she said dropping the phone laying down on her back.
“And why not? He likes you, if he didn’t then he wouldn’t have given you his number” I said sitting down on the bed pulling up my legs. Sarah could be full of doubts and so insecure sometimes, but that was just the person she was. I picked up the mobile phone and the piece of paper, dialling the number.
“No Nads, don’t” Sarah exclaimed as she realised what I was doing. Cheekily I poked my tongue out at her and turned my head away so she couldn’t snatch the phone back. “It’s ringing” I whispered. She bit her lip and ran a hand through her messy brown hair, messing it up even more.
“Hello, Lee here” a voice with a strong cockney accent answered the phone.
“Hiya, this is Nadine, a friend of Sarah’s. She’d like to talk to you” I said holding out the phone for Sarah before he could even reply to me. She shot me a look but giggled as I poked my tongue out at her for the second time. “Erm, Lee? Hey, it’s me Sarah” she said nervously answering the phone. Smiling satisfied I got up from the bed and left the bedroom heading into the kitchen.
I leaned against the kitchen side sipping the hot tea carefully as I looked out onto the street. A familiar car stopped and I walked over to the window, a smile growing on my face as he looked up and waved, a thing he always did when he came over. I placed the tea down on the kitchen table and walked into the hallway opening the front door. “Morning gorgeous” Duncan smiled kissing me gently as he entered the apartment.
“Morning to you too” I smiled moving my arms up around his neck hugging him tightly. “You smell good” I giggled as he pecked my lips gently, grinning.
“Don’t I always?” he asked tucking a strand of hair behind my ear. Giggling again I nodded and pulled him in for another kiss before taking his hand and pulling him to the kitchen with me. “Where’s Sez?” Duncan asked sitting down at the kitchen table.
“Arranging a date” I grinned sitting down opposite of him. He raised an eyebrow. “She met this guy at work last night and he took her out for dinner. She’s totally smitten now” I said.
“I heard that” Sarah said suddenly entering the kitchen, still dressed in her pyjamas but with a dressing gown on too now. Duncan laughed and got up to kiss his cousin’s cheek. “So, tell me more about this mysterious guy that stole your heart” he said sitting down again. She rolled her eyes and poured two mugs of tea, handing him one too.
“He didn’t steal my heart Dunk. We just went for dinner” she said sitting down next to me.
“It’s a start, innit?” he said shrugging gently. I smiled at him.
“What did you and this Lee guy talk about then? Are you going to meet up with him?” I asked Sarah. She wrapped her fingers round the mug and smiled her famous Sarah smile nodding gently. “Aww Sezzie, that’s great!” I exclaimed hugging her as she burst out giggling.
“We’re just going for a walk in the park. Nothing special” she said shrugging gently.
“That’s how it all starts. Look at us two, before you know it you’re all loved up and years together” Duncan grinned finishing off his tea making us both laugh. I checked the time on the clock on the wall and smiled as he leaned down to kiss me gently. “I’m off to work. See ya later girls!” he slipped his jacket on and kissed me one last time before leaving again, closing the front door with a click.
“I’m off to work too. Do you need a ride?” I asked popping my head around the bedroom door. Sarah pulled the top over her head and shook her head as she looked at me through the mirror. “No thanks, I’ll be fine. Have fun!” she said.
“Will do. Bye!” I called grabbing my bag and car keys before leaving the apartment and happily jumping down the few stairs.
Chapter 4 – Lee.
I pulled up at the record company and locked the car, slipping the keys in my pocket as I walked up to the large doors. They opened automatically and I stepped into the warm, huge hallway. “Good morning” I greeted the receptionist politely receiving a smile from her as I walked towards the elevators. After a few seconds one arrived and I got on hitting the button for the third floor. Daniel Glatman’s office was there.
Humming some random song I walked down the long hallway and reached the black door of the office. “Come in” a voice said as I knocked on the door. I opened it and Mr. Glatman smiled at me. “Hello Lee, how are you?” he shook my hand warmly and made a signal for me to take place in one of the big leather seats.
“I’m great thanks” I replied. “I brought my notebook” I said handing him my personal notebook which was filled with poems, songs, thoughts and more random stuff.
“I’ll have a read later on, thank you” Daniel smiled taking the notebook from me and putting it aside. “Well Lee, the reason why I asked you to come here today is because the record company is having a Christmas party this Saturday night. All of our artists will be there and a lot of press of course too. We’ll need someone to do a performance and I immediately thought of you” he said explaining the reason why he had asked me to come over.
“Me? Why?” I frowned surprised.
“You’re perfect for it!” Daniel exclaimed leaning back in his seat, entwining his fingers to support his head. “You’ve got an amazing voice Lee, and I’d like you to sing at the party. This is the perfect opportunity for you to show other artists what you’re made of, and God knows you can do a collaboration with someone!” he said. I nodded slowly trying to take in everything he just said.
“Ok. I’ll do it. Sounds great” I said smiling broadly.
“And so it’s gonna be” Daniel said picking up the phone. “I’ll just call Nadine Johnson, she’s taking care of all the arrangements for the party” he said. I nodded again and leaned back in the comfortable seat relaxing as I looked around the sunlit office.
Just a minute or two later someone knocked on the door and I looked up. A girl, she didn’t look older than 20/21, stepped into the office. “Hey Dan. Hello, you must be Lee. I’m Nadine, nice to meet you” she said flashing me a smile as she held out her hand for me to shake it.
“Do you have a housemate called Sarah?” I asked shaking her hand. Her voice sounded so familiar. Nadine frowned but then laughed as it suddenly clicked.
“Yeah, yeah I do! Your name seemed familiar and now I know. What a small world, eh?” she said placing the pile of papers she was holding on the table. I nodded and grinned. She seemed really friendly. “Shall we go down to my office and discuss your performance at the party?” she asked.
“That’s fine by me” I said.
We took the elevator and went to the second floor. “So…Nadine - ” I started but she cut me off. “Call me Nads please. Nadine sounds so formal and makes me feel rather old” Nadine said with a playful roll of the eyes. I chuckled. “Ok. Nads. Why did you call me this morning?” I asked wanting to know the truth. She laughed slightly and got a key out, unlocking and opening the door to her office.
“Sez was too chicken to call you so I did it for her. She kept going on and on about you. She was driving me crazy!” she exclaimed. I laughed. Sarah sounded so cute. “I hope you don’t mind I called you” Nadine said pointing at a seat for me to sit down.
“Oh of course not. I’m glad you did actually. I wanted to phone Sez myself but I was too chicken too, I guess” I confessed shyly.
“Aww really?” she asked sitting down on the desk. Shyly I nodded and nervously fiddled around with my feet not sure of what to say. “You know…I think we’ll be good friends” she giggled making me laugh.
Chapter 5 – Sarah.
Taking a deep breath I opened the front door. “Hey babe” Lee said as a smile appeared on his face. His nose was cold from the weather outside and I giggled quietly as it touched my cheek as he kissed mine gently. “How are you today?” he asked waiting for me to lock the front door before stepping down the small stairs.
“I’m ok thanks. You?” I smiled looking at him as we began to walk the short walk to the park.
“Really good, though it’s rather freezing, innit?” Lee exclaimed softly making me laugh.
“It’s December, what did you expect? Bikini weather?” I said mocking him from the night we met for dinner. He burst out laughing as I giggled along with him.
“Ok you got me there. I shouldn’t have said that, should I?” he grinned looking at me with his dancing, piercing green eyes. Still giggling I shook my head lightly. I felt so comfortable and at ease with him, it was amazing. We hardly knew each other but somehow we seemed to connect so good.
We reached the park after a ten minute walk. The park looked amazing with a layer of snow and the frozen pond. Young children were playing around in the snow, laughing and joking away. “Ooh a snow fight! I love those!” Lee exclaimed stopping in his tracks to watch the children.
“Really?” I asked slowly kneeling down as he kept looking at the children. I grabbed some snow, soaking my gloves right through but I didn’t care, and made a ball out of it throwing it into his direction. “Aaaah!! Seeeeez!” he yelled out as the cold snow hit him right in his neck. I burst out laughing.
“Gotcha!” I laughed hysterically watching him shake his head and whole body, desperately trying to get rid off the snow. “Woops” I said as he suddenly kneeled down and grabbed snow too. As fast as I could I ran away hoping he wasn’t that much of a runner, but I was mistaken and soon enough the snowball hit my back.
“Yahooo!” Lee yelled cheering and laughing madly. Bursting out giggling I slumped down on one of the benches and grabbed new snow, quickly making a snowball from it before throwing it at him. It hit him right on the head making him cry out. “Seeeezzzz!” he cried out between fits of laughter.
“Serves you right for throwing one at me!” I yelled at him covering my face with my hands as he threw several snowballs back at me in a row.
“You started it!” Lee laughed. His laughter was so happy.
“That’s not the point!” I exclaimed cheekily smiling as he stopped throwing snowballs at me. We were both pretty soaked now and rather cold but that didn’t seem to matter to us. He sat down on the bench too and wiped some snow from his handsome face. “What is the point then?” he asked turning his head to me.
“The point is that I’m the girl here, and you’re the guy, so I’m allowed to throw snowballs at you and you aren’t!” I said proudly. Lee raised an eyebrow and then burst out laughing again. His laughter was contagious and I burst out laughing too. “Ah you’re so funny” he giggled.
“Thanks. I try” I said with a shy smile.
The weather was amazing. It was freezing cold but the faint sunlight made it bearable to just sit down and have a nice conversation. I looked at Lee while he spoke and studied his features. He was handsome, that was for sure, and hair a pair of nice green eyes. And his cheeky grin of course. He certainly was attractive, I simply couldn’t deny that. And I was certainly attracted to him.
Lee checked his watch and we realised we had been in the park for nearly two hours now, constantly chatting about life itself and ourselves. “Do you wanna go to my place and have a hot chocolate or something?” I asked getting up shivering with cold. My wet coat was getting a bit too cold now.
“Sure, sounds good” he nodded shivering with cold too.
“My housemate will be there too, I think. But don’t worry, you’ll like her. She’s nice” I said as we left the park.
“Nadine? Yeah I know” Lee said. I raised an eyebrow and looked at him. “I met her at the record company yesterday” he explained.
“Oh really? What a small world” I smiled.
Fifteen minutes later we were back at my place sitting at the kitchen table with a hot chocolate and some cookies. The front door clicked and seconds later Nadine appeared in the kitchen doorway. “Hey Sez…oh hey Lee” she said. Lee grinned and waved at her.
“Do you want one too?” I asked pointing at the hot chocolate.
“Yeah thanks” she nodded. “I’ll be in my room doing some work if you need me” she said taking the drink from me.
Lee licked off the cream from his lips and finished off a cookie, taking his coat. “Sorry babe, but I gotta go now” he said slipping it on. “I had a great time today” he smiled turning to me as I held the front door open. Smilingly I crossed my arms across my chest, it was so cold outside. “Me too” I said.
“Erm…I don’t know if Nads told you this, but there’s a Christmas party at the record company on Saturday and well I erm…” he trailed off shyly biting his lip looking at his feet. I giggled and reached out to touch his hand making him look up at me again.
“I’d love to go with you” I said.
“Wicked!” Lee exclaimed. I laughed softly. “I’ll pick you up around 8 then, is that ok?” he asked. I thought for a moment then nodded. “Great. I’ll see you then babe” he grinned giving me a warm hug. Blushing slightly I hugged him and my cheeks went even more red as he pressed a quick kiss on my lips before bouncing down the small steps.
Chapter 6 – Nadine.
I looked at myself in the mirror and tilted my head a bit to the right, gently running a finger over the black dress I was wearing. “Someone’s looking gorgeous” a familiar voice suddenly said. I spun around and Duncan appeared in the doorway dressed in a smart suit. He looked stunning. “Really, you do look beautiful baby” he said eyeing me up and down pulling me in for a kiss.
“Thanks Mr. Handsome” I giggled placing my hands on his chest kissing him gently again as he grinned. “Just grab yourself a drink or something. I’m just gonna see if Sez needs any help” I said picking up my earrings and putting them in. I walked into Sarah’s bedroom and stopped in the doorway. “Whoa. Has World War III started and you didn’t warn me?” I exclaimed looking at the mess in the room.
Clothes were spread all over the bed and floor, shoes were everywhere. “I just wanna look good!” Sarah called from the bathroom. I giggled and picked up some clothes. “Wanna impress a certain Mr. Lee Ryan?” I called back putting the clothes in the wardrobe.
“Nooo” she said appearing from the bathroom looking amazing in a dark brown halter neck dress. Her hair was done up nicely and her make-up looked amazing. “Wow Sez, someone’s eyes are gonna pop out” I exclaimed with a giggle. Sarah blushed furiously and stepped in front of the mirror.
“Don’t you think it looks a bit…I dunno…too much?” she asked hesitating. I stepped behind her and shook my head at her as she looked at me through the mirror.
“You look gorgeous. Trust me” I smiled. Sarah turned around smiling too and hugged me tightly.
“Whoa…two lovely ladies…I’m jealous of your dates!” Duncan exclaimed as we stepped into the living room. Sarah and I laughed at him and I poked out my tongue. The doorbell rang and Sarah took a deep breath before disappearing in the hallway and opening the door. “Wow babe, you look gorgeous!” Lee exclaimed.
“Hey Lee” I smiled as he appeared in the doorway. He hugged me gently. “Lee, this is Duncan my boyfriend. Dunk, this is Lee” I said introducing the guys to each other as they shook hands.
“Nice to meet you mate” they said at the same time. I checked my silver wrist watch and realised it was time to get a move on. “Shall we go then?” I asked. The boys nodded and Sarah and I took our purses before following Duncan to his car.

I sipped the champagne and closed my eyes for a moment as it went down my throat. A pair of soft lips suddenly landed on my cheek and an arm went around my waist. “Having fun?” a familiar husky voice whispered. I opened my eyes again and looked straight into Duncan’s blue ones. I nodded taking another sip from the champagne. “This is so good” I said finishing it off. Duncan laughed.
“Sez and Lee seem to be having a good time too” he said. I followed his gaze and spotted them sitting on one of the sofas, talking and giggling like there was no tomorrow. “Do you want another one babe?” he asked taking the empty champagne glass from me. I nodded and he gently pecked my lips before wandering off to get the drinks.
“Ladies and gentlemen, can I have your attention please?” Daniel said tapping the microphone lightly. Everyone went silent and turned towards the small stage he was on. “First of all I’d like to thank you all for coming. Second of all I’d like to introduce to you Lee Ryan” he said waving at Lee to come on stage. Everyone clapped as he climbed onto the stage, and I smiled at Sarah as she came up to me.
“Lee has only just signed a record deal with us and he’s doing a special performance for us tonight. So, please give him a warm applause. Lee Ryan!” Daniel said. Lee grinned widely as everyone clapped even harder. The piano music started and I glanced at Sarah who was staring at him.

Duncan nudged me gently and I nodded as I knew what he meant. Lee was staring back at Sarah as he sang. He meant every word he was singing.
Chapter 7 – Lee.
The music faded away and I gripped onto the microphone tightly. The room went quiet for a few seconds before everyone suddenly started clapping, some of them were even cheering. “Thank you” I said suddenly going a bit shy. Daniel patted my back with a huge smile and I jumped off stage, immediately making my way over to Sarah.
“Lee…” she trailed off.
“Yes?” I asked gently taking her hand in mine slowly entwining our fingers. Her brown eyes connected with mine and I stared deeply at her. “Can we go outside for a moment please?” she asked. I nodded and she placed her glass of wine down on one of the table before following me outside.
It had started snowing again and I shivered with cold. Sarah crossed her arms across her chest and leaned against the railing. I stepped up to her and slipped my arms around her waist cuddling her. “What are you doing?” she whispered slowly moving her arms around my neck relaxing in my arms. “Keeping you warm” I whispered back kissing the top of her head gently.
This girl was doing something to me. I was falling for her, big time, and I didn’t even know how. There was just something about her, something I couldn’t explain. That something attracted me and I just wanted to be close to her all the time. I just wanted her to be mine. “Sez…” I said gently.
“Yes?” Sarah asked lifting her head locking our eyes. “About that song…” I started and she nodded waiting for me to carry on. “What about it?” she asked softly.
“Well…do you really believe in love at first sight?” I asked not breaking off our eye contact. A light frown appeared and she thought for a few seconds before slowly nodding. “Yeah…I think I do. Why are you asking?” she asked smiling softly. I smiled too and cuddled even tighter. “No reason” I said resting my head on hers gently. We stood in silence for some minutes. A question kept spinning round and round in my head and I just had to ask it, I needed to know. “Sez…” I said gently, just like before.
“Yes?” Sarah asked again looking at me with a soft smile as I pulled away from her slightly. “Erm…can I just do something?” I asked biting my lip, I was so nervous suddenly. A small frown appeared on her face but she nodded anyway and I hesitated for another few seconds before leaning in and brushing my lips against hers. It took her a few seconds to respond and as she did, I pressed my lips firmer against hers and deepened the kiss.
The kiss turned even deeper as my hands gently ran up and down her back, hers gently tickling the back of my neck. Breathlessly we broke apart after a few minutes staring at each other. “Sez? Sez, you out here hun?” a voice called suddenly. Sarah got out off my grip and tucked a strain of hair shyly behind her ear. “Oh there you are” Nadine said appearing.
“Something wrong?” Sarah asked trying to sound as casual as she could.
“No, I was just looking for you to dance with me. They’re playing our song” Nadine replied grinning. The doors to the large room were open and music was blasting out of the speakers. “Am I interrupting something?” she asked.
“Oh no, no don’t worry. We were just talking about my performance and I wanted some fresh air” I said leaning against the railing, winking at Sarah as Nadine didn’t see it. “Go on then babe, have a dance. I’ll go see where Dunk is” I said with a slight grin. The girls giggled and linked arms as we went back inside.
I walked over to the bar and ordered another beer taking place beside Duncan. “Great party, eh” I said taking a sip from the drink, I was so thirsty. He nodded in agreement and I looked at the dancing crowd. Nadine and Sarah were dancing and giggling together obviously having a good time. “How long have you and Nads been together?” I asked.
“Nearly 3 years” Duncan smiled taking his eyes off Nadine. “Sez is my cousin and she introduced me to Nads and well…here we are” he laughed softly making me grin. His eyes sparkled as he talked about her, I could see how much she meant to him and how much he loved her. “Your performance was amazing by the way” he said.
“Thank you” I replied.
“No problem mate. Lovely song too, it sounded as though you really meant the words you were singing” Duncan said turning around at the bar to order another drink.
“What do you mean?” I asked turning around too hoping he hadn’t seen me practically staring at Sarah while singing.
“The way you were looking at Sez and singing your heart out…don’t think I didn’t see that mate” he said winking at me as the bartender placed two new beers down. Duncan handed me one too and I finished off the first one. Had it been that obvious? It was so strange. She was pulling me in too deep already. “You really like her, don’t you?” Duncan asked nicely putting his hand on my shoulder. I looked at him.
“Yeah. Yeah I do. I like her a lot” I said with a gentle sigh.
Chapter 8 – Sarah.
I awoke to the sound of a mobile beeping. I rolled over with a yawn and nearly knocked off the small lamp on the bedside table as I picked up the phone.
Morning babe! Hope you slept well and aren’t too hangover, like me! I just wanna say thanks for the lovely night and kiss  hehe xxx Lee.
I giggled at his cheekiness and opened a new text to send him a reply. I send the text and sunk back into the warm covers burying my head deeper in the pillows. I sighed happily as my mind drifted back to the night before. I really, really liked Lee but I wondered how his feelings towards me were. Surely he felt something, the kiss had been so passionate, but who said it wasn’t just lust? After all, we didn’t know each other that well yet.
The sound of the phone ringing snapped me out of my thoughts and I pressed the green button. “Hey, it’s me” Lee said. “Hey you” I said pulling the covers up to my chin. “You sound so hangover” I giggled cheekily. He laughed down the line.
“Thanks babe, you certainly know how to make someone feel good!” he exclaimed making me laugh too. “Nah, I’m alright. This one’s not too bad” he grinned.
“Glad to hear that” I said tucking hair behind my ear. “So, is there a special reason why you called?” I asked.
“Nah, I just wanted to hear your voice” Lee replied with a cheeky tone of voice.
“Oh really?” I smirked checking the time on the alarm realising it was only 9 AM. “Why the hell are you up so early anyway?” I asked. We had left the party at 4 AM and I could definitely do with another few hours of good sleep.
“I couldn’t sleep” he giggled. “I’m on such a high from the performance last night!” he exclaimed.
“Aww bless you” I said smiling softly, covering my mouth as I yawned. Lee chuckled.
“And from the kiss of course” he said cheekily. I felt my cheeks burn as he said that, he certainly knew how to make someone blush. Feeling rather shy I stayed silent for some moments. “Sez? Did you fall asleep again? Coz that would be very rude” he said trying to control his giggles. I burst out laughing.
“Nooo silly. I’m awake. Just kinda shy” I said.
“Aww why babe? It’s just me” Lee said softly. “Oh no wait, I know what you’re doing. You just want me to come round and kiss you again, to put me on another high and torture me” he said finally letting the giggles out.
“Lee! How did you guess?” I exclaimed teasing him and playing along. He stopped giggling abruptly and I bit my lip to keep mine inside.
“Really?” he asked.
“What if say yes?” I replied cheekily.
“I’d jump straight out of bed, run through the shower and get my cute ass to your place” Lee said causing me to laugh at him yet again. “Well, what are you waiting for then?” I asked flirting, throwing the covers off me shivering with cold as my feet touch the cold wooden floor.
“Erm…good question. I’ll see ya in a bit then babe” he exclaimed excitedly grinning.
“Ok. Oh and Lee?” I asked.
“Yes?” he asked.
“Please stay under the shower for some minutes and don’t just run through it” I said chuckling. Lee laughed down the line and I opened the wardrobe to see what clothes to wear. “I really like you Sez” he said softly. I smiled and blushed for the second time that morning.
“I really like you too Lee” I replied ending the phone call, throwing the phone onto the bed.
Chapter 9 – Nadine.
“Morning sleepy head” Duncan said appearing from the bathroom rubbing his hair with a towel. “Morning” I said yawning stretching out taking up all the space in bed, the covers wrapping around me. He sat down on the bed and leaned in to kiss me gently. “Why are you up so early?” I asked running my fingers through his wet hair spiking it up.
“Early? It’s 11” he grinned. I looked at the alarm on the bedside table and realised he was right. “Come on get up, I want breakfast” he said peeling the covers off. I grabbed them and shook my head at him.
“Nooo Dunkie please. I’m comfortable!” I whined knowing he hated that nickname. Duncan rolled his eyes and pulled harder at the covers which lead to a pillow fight between the two of us. “Oi get off me!” I laughed as he finally managed to push me onto the bed again. Grinning cheekily he shook his head and leaned down pressing his lips passionately against mine, our fingers entwining above our head. “I love you” he whispered resting his nose against mine.
“I love you too” I smiled pecking his lips gently. “Now get off me, or I’ll ruin your precious hair” I said cheekily knowing how much his hair meant to him. Duncan quickly got off me and I giggled as he held out his hand for me to pull me up. “I wonder if Sez is up yet” I said opening the wardrobe.
“Yeah she is” he replied ruffling his hair up with gel. He looked at me through the mirror. “Lee’s here too. I heard them talking when I went for a shower” he said.
“Really?” I replied throwing a pair of jeans and a top onto the bed. Duncan nodded and ruffled his hair up even more before smiling satisfied at the reflection. “Dunk, what do you know?” I asked putting my hands on my hips.
“Nothing babe. Why you asking?” he said kissing the side of my head gently as he leaned down to take his shoes.
“Dunk tell me! I know that look in your eyes. What do you know?” I exclaimed softly wanting to know what he was hiding. Duncan chuckled softly as he slipped his shoes on.
“Lee and I had a chat last night at the party and he told me he really likes Sez” he said.
“Aww really?” I smiled. He nodded. “That’s so cute” I said.
“Yeah. Dead cute” he grinned cheekily. I laughed and slapped his chest playfully. “Now get your cute butt into that shower. I’ll make you some breakfast” he said kissing me before gently pushing me towards the bathroom.
The warm water trickled down my body and I closed my eyes sighing happily. The warmth of the water slowly woke me up and I emerged from the bathroom fifteen minutes later. Fully dressed I headed for the kitchen where Duncan, Lee and Sarah were having a conversation. “Morning!” I said cheerily. “You’re early” I said to Lee taking a sip from the tea Sarah had prepared for me.
“It’s nearly noon” he said. Shrugging I sat down at the kitchen table too and nudged Sarah gently. She looked at me and I winked at her making her giggle quietly.
“We just decided to go shopping today. The shops are opened anyway because of Christmas” she said.
“Ok cool. I still need to get a few presents” I said taking a bite from my toast with Nutella. “No, not for you” I said with a cheeky smile before Duncan could say anything. He pulled a face making the three of us laugh.
“Seems like she knows you too well, mate!” Lee exclaimed laughing patting Duncan’s back.
“Yeah, she’s got you wrapped around her finger” Sarah giggled cheekily. I laughed and swallowed the toast taking another sip from my tea before it would get cold. Laughing Duncan poked out his tongue.
“That’s what you think” he grinned as we continued laughing.

The cold wind blew making me shiver as I nuzzled my nose deeper in my scarf. I looked at Duncan who sniggered. “What?” I asked, my voice sounding muffled because of the scarf. “Nothing. Just that you look like someone from the Maffia with your scarf like that” he laughed.
“Why thank you!” I exclaimed mock shocked which just made him laugh even more.
“You’re welcome” Duncan giggled. I rolled my eyes at him but grinned anyway as he pouted, stopping dead in his tracks to pull me in for a gentle kiss. “You’re a very cute Maffia member though” he whispered pecking my lips once more, making me smile as we continued walking following Sarah and Lee.
Chapter 10 – Lee.
“I seriously don’t know how you girls manage it!” I said looking at the bags Sarah was holding. We had been shopping for the past three hours and I was slowly getting bored. I wondered what was so much fun about visiting nearly every shop in town.
“It’s not that hard” Sarah giggled struggling with the bags as she paid for another top. “Thanks” she smiled as I took the bags from her, our hands brushing against each other. I smiled too and waited for her to pay. “Give me that” she said wanting to take the bags back from me as we left the shop.
“Nah it’s ok babe” I said shaking my head. She rolled her eyes making me grin. “Look, there are Nads and Dunk” I said suddenly spotting them.
“Whoa mate, what on earth did you buy?” Duncan exclaimed laughing as we reached them.
“You can talk” I grinned nodding at the bags he was holding, they obviously belonged to Nadine.
“The only reason we took you two along today is so you can carry our bags. I thought that was quite obvious” she said cheekily, nudging Sarah who nodded giggling. Those two were so cheeky. Duncan and I laughed together and I shook my head at them. “So, did you get everything you wanted?” she asked Sarah linking arms with her as we followed them.
“Did you two have a good time?” Duncan asked.
“Yeah, we did” I nodded in agreement. “I really want to buy Sez something for Christmas, something special you know, but I really don’t know what” I said quietly so that the girls wouldn’t hear. I really liked Sarah and I wanted to buy her something she would really like.
“And you’re asking me for advice?” he chuckled lightly.
“Well yeah. You’re her cousin, you know what she likes” I said. Duncan nodded and thought for a few moments.
“I’ve got an idea” he said looking at me. “A few weeks ago the girls went shopping and they dragged me along too. I remember Sez getting all excited about a necklace she saw. Maybe you can buy her that, I’m sure she’d love that” he said quietly as we reached his car. Smilingly I nodded.
“What are you two whispering about?” Sarah asked.
“Huh what? Nothing” Duncan exclaimed casually. I bit my lip to keep a grin inside. She raised an eyebrow then shrugged and got into the car. Grinning he looked at me and I patted his back thankfully. “Thanks for the hint mate” I said putting the bags in the back before taking place next to Sarah.
“Shall we watch a movie or something?” Nadine asked dropping the bags in the hallway.
“Yeah but not one of your chick flicks, please” Duncan said rolling his eyes.
“We watched ‘Terminator’ last time” Sarah said hitting his chest. “Besides, you don’t really mind watching those movies because you know Nads will get soppy, and you like comforting her” she said cheekily poking her tongue out at her cousin. He rolled his eyes again and followed Nadine into the kitchen.
I sat down on the sofa next to Sarah watching her as she looked at the DVDs. “What?” she asked suddenly looking up, obviously feeling my eyes on her. Smiling softly I shook my head lightly. “Nothing. You’re gorgeous” I said shrugging casually.
“Are you drunk?” she giggled sitting down next to me again, her perfume reaching my nose. I laughed and shook my head.
“I’m just telling the truth babe!” I smiled. Sarah blushed and quickly tried to hide it by grabbing the remote control, turning on the DVD player. “Why are you blushing?” I asked gently taking her chin making her look at me.
“I don’t know” she said quietly biting her lip. I smiled and slowly moved my hand to her neck as our eyes stayed locked, slowly moving my face closer to hers until our lips brushed softly against each other. They met for a few seconds before I pulled away, looking at Sarah for approval. She smiled softly and I leaned in for another kiss, this time kissing her firmly as the kiss deepened.
Chapter 11 – Sarah.
“Sorry I’m late!” I exclaimed brushing the snowflakes from my face. “I wanted to take the bus but it was late because of the weather so I decided to come by foot” I said taking off my coat, placing it over the radiator so it could dry up.
“That’s ok Sez. It’s not that busy anyway” Caroline, the owner of the restaurant, said. I took my apron and put it on, pulling my hair up again. “So, how’s Lee?” she asked winking at me. I laughed softly and followed her into the restaurant.
“He’s good. Thanks for asking” I said. Lee and I had been dating for a good three weeks now. We were taking things slowly and one step at the time. We clicked really good and he made me happy, just what I wanted. A group of teenagers pushed the door to the restaurant open and for the next hour it became busy.
I dried my hands with the towel and sat down on the windowsill taking my phone from by bag. I had a missed call from Lee so I pushed the green button and dialled the number. “Hey babe” he answered after just one ring. “I just called you” he giggled.
“Yeah I know, that’s why I called you back. I’m at work” I said.
“Oh yeah, I forgot” Lee replied. I laughed softly. “I’m still in bed” he grinned.
“Lazy sod!” I exclaimed making him laugh. “Why did you call anyway?” I asked getting up to pour a cup of tea. I had a lunch break now and the restaurant had been rather busy over the last hour so the break was more than welcome.
“No reason actually” he said. “I missed you” he said sweetly, no doubt he was smiling.
“Aww bless you” I smiled carefully taking a sip from the hot tea, pulling a face as I realised how hot it actually was. I took the cup and wrapped my free fingers around it sitting down on the windowsill again, resting my back against the window. This was my favourite spot in this room.
“Yeah bless me” Lee grinned. “Are you still free tonight?” he asked.
“Of course I am. Are you still not gonna tell me what the surprise is?” I said cheekily finishing off the tea, my break was nearly over. He laughed down the line.
“Nooo, you’ll have to wait and see babe. You’ll like it, don’t worry” he said sounding really pleased with himself.
“I’d better” I smirked placing the empty cup in the sink looking up as Caroline appeared in the doorway. I nodded at her and she flashed me a smile before disappearing into the restaurant again. The place was filled with voices and laughter, and I assumed it was going to be a busy afternoon. “I gotta go now, the place is packed” I said.
“Ok babe. I’ll see you tonight then, around 7” Lee said.
“Yeah. Bye” I replied finishing the call by pressing the red button with my thumb.

“Did you order this weather?” Lee exclaimed as I closed the front door behind me. I laughed and locked the front door. Rain was pouring down from the dark blue sky and the blowing wind was freezing. “Hello by the way” he grinned slipping an arm around my waist kissing my lips gently.
“Hey” I giggled. His arm left my waist and his warm hand found mine as I stepped down the small steps. “I ordered snow actually, but I think something went wrong with the order” I said giggling again. Lee laughed and slipped our entwined fingers into the pocket of his coat, obviously feeling how cold my fingers were.
“How was work?” he asked.
“Good. Caroline says hi” I said. He smiled. “Did you go to the studios today?” I asked. We reached the train station and Lee slipped his arm around my waist pulling me closer to him, I snuggled into him as he wrapped his warm coat around the two of us.
“Yeah, I started recording today” he smiled with twinkling eyes. I smiled too and tiptoed gently pecking his lips, giggling as he deepened the kiss tightening his grip on me. The sound of an arriving train made me pull back. “Ah man, these trains have got bad timing!” he groaned making me laugh at him as he took my hand again, pulling me towards the train.
“Where are we going then?” I asked.
“Stop asking babe! You’ll see!” Lee exclaimed laughing slightly. I rolled my eyes at him and shuffled away from him, pouting. “Aww babe, common” he exclaimed softly moving closer to me. Pouting still I looked at him. “Do you trust me?” he asked looking straight into my eyes with his dazzling green ones.
“Yes” I nodded.
“Well, then stop asking questions and just wait” he smiled brushing his soft lips against my forehead. Smilingly I snuggled up to him resting my head on his shoulder.
Twenty minutes later Lee got up and held his hand out for me pulling me up from the seat. “Where are we?” I asked shivering with cold as we got off the train. I looked around and realised I didn’t recognise the train station, I had absolutely no idea where we were.
“Somewhere. Come on” he smiled. He took my hand and we walked up the long road which led to a hill. The cold wind was blowing and I kept shivering with cold. “You ok babe?” Lee asked gently squeezing my hand. I nodded and he smiled softly as we continued to walk up the hill in the darkness.
“Oh my God” I whispered as we reached the top of the hill. His hand slowly slipped out of mine and I took another step forward, amazed by what was in front of me. From where we were standing you could see the entire city, the many lights made it look magical. The many Christmas lights were so beautiful and I gasped at the sight of it.
“Are you trying to do an impression of a goldfish?” Lee grinned.
“Lee this is amazing!” I exclaimed turning around wrapping my arms around his neck. Laughing he slipped his arms around my waist and I looked at him, planting a kiss on his lips. “How did you find this place?” I asked.
“I used to come here nearly every day when I was younger” he smiled. I smiled too and kissed him gently before resting my head on his chest. “It’s gorgeous” I said still amazed at all the Christmas lights. Christmas was coming round soon, there were only two weeks left now.
“Yeah it is…and freezing too” Lee said with a grin. I laughed softly and looked up into the sky as a snowflake suddenly touched my nose. “Ooh snow. We should have a snowball fight!” he exclaimed.
“I don’t think there’s enough snow for that just yet” I laughed.
“There soon will be!” he laughed as it started to snow harder and the snowflakes turned bigger. “So, did you like the surprise then?” he smiled holding out his hand for me. Nodding I took it and his fingers entwined with mine.
“Thank you” I said. Lee flashed me another smile and I burst out laughing as he suddenly started to run down the hill pulling me along with him.
Chapter 12 – Nadine.
I pushed the office door open with my foot and quickly dropped the pile of papers on the desk. Sighing heavily I shut the door again and looked at the load of work on my desk. I felt awful and didn’t really feel like doing a lot but it had to be done. I got a bottle of water out and sat down at the desk, taking a sip from it.
“Nadine? Do you have a moment?” Daniel asked knocking on the door.
“Yeah. What’s up?” I asked taking another sip of water before putting it away. He closed the door behind him and sat down on the desk, shoving papers out of the way.
“It’s about the trip to LA. As you know I asked Scott to do it, but his wife is due to have their second child in the week that he’s gone, so he’d like to stay at home” he said. I nodded understandingly. “That’s why I’m here. I want to ask you to go”
“Me?” I asked surprised. Daniel nodded.
“You’re perfect for it” he said.
“But I’ve never done something like this before” I said raising my eyebrows. He laughed softly and checked his watch before getting up to his feet again.
“There’s a first time for everything, isn’t there? Besides, it isn’t that hard Nadine. The only thing you have to do is join meetings of the American part of the company and do a report of the most important things. Oh and maybe a few interviews with some important people from the staff, but that won’t be too difficult either” Daniel said. I nodded slowly.
“I’ll do it” I said.
“Really?” he exclaimed, his face lighting up. I giggled softly and nodded. “Aww Nadine, you’re a star” he grinned making me laugh.
“I know. Dunk tells me every day” I laughed. Daniel burst out laughing too and shook his head playfully at me.
“You two are too loved up” he smiled. “I’ll sort everything out then, if you drop by at my office tomorrow then I can you give the tickets and such” he said standing in the doorway. I nodded and flashed him another smile as he left my office.

I inserted the key into the front door lock and pushed the door open. “Sez?” I called. The lights were on and it smelled as though someone was cooking. Maybe Sarah was home after all. “Sez?” I called again taking off my coat and scarf.
“What are you doing?” I asked stepping into the kitchen. Duncan looked up and he smiled widely.
“Surprise” he grinned wiping his hands with a towel. “Hey babe” he smiled kissing me gently pulling me into a hug.
“This is lovely” I said looking at the lovely smelling and looking food. “How did you get in anyway? Did you find your spare key?” I asked knowing he had lost it. He laughed softly and shook his head, tapping my nose with his finger.
“Sez let me in before she went out with Lee” Duncan said. He checked his watch and looked at the food. “This will be done in about 20 minutes so if you want a shower then there’s plenty of time” he said. Smilingly I nodded and kissed his cheek gently before going upstairs.
Shivering with cold I wrapped a towel around my wet hair and slipped my bathrobe on, feeling a rush of dizziness come over me. I shrugged it off and dried my hair a bit, pulling it up in a loose bun before changing into my favourite pair of jeans and top.
“Dinner’s ready!” Duncan called upstairs. I put the wet towel on the radiator to dry and went downstairs.
“Thanks. Looks good” I smiled taking place at the kitchen table. He sat down too and I took a little sip from the white wine, it tasted so good. “And it tastes good too” I said.
“I know. I’m a good cook” he grinned.
“Don’t get too full of yourself, Mr James” I giggled.
“I’m not!” Duncan exclaimed laughing. I poked my tongue out at him and took another sip from my wine. “How was work today?” he asked.
“Really good actually” I said bursting to tell the news. “Remember that LA trip I told you about?”
“Yeah. The one Scott was gonna do” he nodded.
“Well, his wife is due to have their baby that week so Daniel asked me to go” I said biting my lip waiting for his reaction.
“Babe that’s wicked!” Duncan exclaimed smiling so widely. “And you know why?” he grinned placing his knife and fork down. Kind of confused I shook my head slowly and looked at him as he got up from his chair and kneeled down beside me. “Because the magazine asked me to do a few interviews in the States, LA to be exact. And I wanted to ask you to come with me” he said.
“Really?” I gasped knowing how hard he had worked to get this chance. Duncan nodded excitedly and I squealed making him laugh as I flung my arms around his neck, hugging him tightly as he kissed me. “When is it?” I asked pulling away from the kiss.
“They asked me to go in the first week of January” he said.
“This is so good!” I grinned wrapping my arms around his neck again, he laughed.
Chapter 13 – Lee.
“Do you want another drink babe?” I exclaimed over the loud music, holding Sarah’s waist. “Another drink?” I asked again pointing at her glass this time as she looked at me wondering. She understood and nodded handing me the empty glass. I pushed through the dancing crowd and reached the bar where I ordered another beer and another Bacardi.
The club was so crowded and I leaned against the bar as the bartender poured the drinks. “Oh I’m so sorry!”
“It’s ok, don’t worry” I replied. The girl who had bumped into me looked up. “Jodie” I gasped surprised.
“Lee. Fancy meeting you again” she said grinning, placing the empty glass back onto the bar.
“Erm yeah” I said feeling quite uncomfortable. I glanced over at the bartender and wished he would hurry up a bit, I didn’t feel like talking to Jodie at all.
“Are you here alone?” she asked running her finger over the top of her glass looking at me with her big blue eyes. They were still the same kind of blue as when we first met, which was nearly 5 months ago now.
“No. My girlfriend and her friends are over there” I said pointing into the direction of the dance floor.
“Girlfriend eh” Jodie grinned cheekily running her finger up and down my chest. The bartender finally placed my drinks down and I handed him the money, taking her hand off my chest. As I did so I noticed the small bump she had.
“Are you pregnant?” I asked bluntly.
“Yeah I am” she said. I gulped and my mind started to work as she looked at me with a smug smile. “I’m fourteen weeks gone. Do the maths” she said taking her drink and purse, pushing through the crowd.
“Fu!k” I cursed. Leaving the drinks behind I pushed through the dancing crowd again, ignoring people’s protests as I shoved them out of the way. I had to find Jodie, I needed some answers to my questions. I found her on the dance floor and I grabbed her arm ignoring her as she exclaimed my name.
“What the hell is wrong with you?” Jodie exclaimed angrily as we stepped outside the club.
“Is that baby mine?” I asked.
“You did the maths then” she said crossing her arms across her chest.
“Christ Jodie!” I exclaimed angrily ready to hit the wall. With an amused look on her face she looked at me, obviously not caring about the falling rain.
“It takes two to tango Lee. Don’t blame this all on me. It’s not my fault you don’t know how to use protection, is it?” Jodie snapped. In disgust I looked at her and started to wonder what I had actually seen in her in the first place. Yeah, she was attractive and yeah, she was rather nice. But I didn’t have any feelings for her, to me she was just a bit of fun. Just like I was a bit of fun for her, just like we said it would be when we met at the club.
“Can I call you?” I asked running a hand through my hair. I needed time to think, this was such a big shock.
“Of course you can” she grinned.
“Good” I said rudely pushing past her heading back into the club.
I headed straight for the bar and ordered a double whiskey, downing it in one. I pulled a face as the strong liquor went down my throat. “There you are! What’s taking you so long?” Sarah exclaimed appearing next to me. I looked at her and smiled faintly back at her.
“Sorry, it’s so busy” I said pushing the empty glass away, hoping she wouldn’t see it.
“You muppet” she giggled kissing my cheek before waving at the bartender to order the drinks. “Something wrong?” she asked handing me my beer, taking a sip from her own drink. In the corner of my eye I saw Jodie looking at me and I got up from the barstool, taking Sarah’s hand in mine.
“Come on, we gotta dance” I said kissing her gently as she giggled, pulling her towards the dance floor with me. I just needed to take my mind off things.
Chapter 14 – Duncan.
“Have you got everything?” I asked Nadine for the millionth time. It was amazing how fast these two months had passed by. Christmas went by so quick and now we were ready for our LA adventure.
“Yes, now relax” she giggled placing her hand on my arm. Smiling sheepishly I shrugged and kissed the side of her head gently before continuing to check the suitcase for the last time. “Right. Ready” she said closing her suitcase. I smiled at her and closed mine too.
“I can’t believe we’re actually doing this” I said sitting down on my bed pulling Nadine onto my lap. She snuggled up to me resting her head on my chest as my arms slipped around her waist. “I’m so happy we’re going together babe” I whispered kissing her neck gently.
“Me too” she smiled kissing me gently.
“Hey you two lovebirds. All packed and ready to go?” Sarah grinned popping her head around the bedroom door.
“Yeah we are” Nadine said getting up from my lap.
“I’m gonna miss you guys” Sarah said with a soft smile leaning against the doorframe.
“Save the soppy stuff for the airport darling” I grinned picking up the two suitcases to carry them downstairs. The girls giggled and followed me downstairs. “Ah there’s Lee” I said as a car pulled up on the driveway. I placed the suitcases down and opened the front door for him. “Hey mate” I smiled.
“Hey” Lee exclaimed waving. “Hey babe” he smiled kissing Sarah. “Sorry I’m a bit late” he chuckled making us laugh.
“Don’t worry, we’re getting used to that” Nadine laughed. She checked her watch on her wrist and slipped her coat on pulling her hair up again in a messy bun. “We’d better get moving” she said taking her purse and another bag. Lee and I took the suitcases and we put them in the back of the car, before joining the girls.
Nadine kissed my cheek and I looked at her smilingly pulling her closer to me as she rested her head on my shoulder. Sarah was sat in the front with Lee, lost in their own conversation. I looked out of the window again watching the streets of London pass us by. It was weird to know I wasn’t going to see all these familiar things for a few weeks, maybe even months.
“Take care of my cousin, yeah?” I said to Lee giving him a manly hug. It was time to check in and board the plane. He laughed and nodded as we hugged again, we had become really good friends already; he was such a nice bloke and he always made me laugh. “Sez, take care of Lee, yeah?” I grinned hugging her tightly as she giggled through her tears.
“I heard that!” Lee exclaimed breaking off the hug with Nadine, causing us to laugh.
“I’m gonna miss you, Dunk” Sarah said quietly. I looked at her smiling softly, kissing her forehead. “I’m gonna miss you too” I said hugging her again before letting go off her and taking my suitcase looking at Nadine. “Ready?” I asked. She nodded and gave Sarah one final hug.
“I’ll call you when we get to the hotel, yeah?” she said.
“Yeah. Have fun you two!” Sarah exclaimed waving goodbye at us together with Lee as we walked towards the gate.

“Baby wake up” I whispered nudging Nadine lightly. She stirred and yawned as her eyes slowly opened.
“Five more minutes Dunks” she mumbled.
“Babe the plane landed. We’re in LA” I laughed softly. Her eyes flew open and she sat right up in her seat. “You slept all the way through. Am I that boring?” I asked pouting mockingly.
“Aww no, I was just tired” Nadine exclaimed softly making me grin as we got up to get our stuff.
“Geez it’s hot here!” I exclaimed squinting with my eyes as we stepped into the rather warm sun.
“I told you so, but you wouldn’t listen” Nadine giggled pointing at my long sleeved shirt and her t-shirt, picking up her suitcase as a taxi stopped. I poked my tongue out at her and helped her put the suitcases in the back of the taxi before sitting down beside her. “I’m so tired” she yawned snuggling up to me. I lifted my arm and placed it around her shoulder.
“Are you feeling ok?” I asked noticing she looked a bit pale.
“Yeah. Just tired” she mumbled closing her eyes. I smiled softly and kissed the side of her head.
“We’ll be at the hotel soon so you can catch up on your sleep” I whispered.
“Ok” Nadine mumbled back snuggling into me more as she sighed gently. I yawned too and turned my head to look at the unfamiliar surroundings taking in the first impressions of LA.
